AHS Registration Prioritization Policy:
For Nursery and Pre-Nursery (only applicable at the Posluns Branch):
Admission begins with Nursery, and priority is always given to Nursery-age applicants. In accordance with Ministry of Education regulations, each Nursery class may accommodate only a limited number of Pre-Nursery-aged children, in the event that we do not fill all spots in the Nursery classroom with Nursery-aged children. Prioritization of applications for Nursery, as well as the waitlist, is as follows:
- If applicable, reregistrations from current Pre-Nursery students to the following year’s Nursery cohort received by the reregistration deadline communicated in a given year
- Sibling applications from siblings of current AHS students or AHS graduates to the Nursery-age cohort (provided they are received by January 1 for entry two Septembers later)
- Applications from children of AHS alumni or staff to the Nursery-age cohort
- Other applications to the Nursery-age cohort
- In the event that spots remain unfilled by the Spring/Summer leading up to September entry, the School may offer these spots to Pre-Nursery-aged siblings. The School will send a communication to the families who have children in this age group who have put in applications for the following year (Nursery).
For JK-Grade 8:
For all other grades, we prioritize reregistrations from current AHS students received by the reregistration deadline communicated in a given year, followed by registrations for siblings of current AHS students or AHS graduates received by January 1 for the academic year beginning two Septembers later (e.g., January 1, 2026 for September 2027; January 1, 2027 for September 2028, etc.). After that point, we accept applications on a rolling, first-come, first-served basis for available spots.
Prioritization on the waitlist for JK – Grade 8 is as follows:
- Late Reregistrations from current AHS students for their grade cohort in the following year
- Sibling applications from siblings of current AHS students or AHS graduates (provided they are received by January 1 for entry two Septembers later)
- Applications from children of AHS alumni or staff
- Â Other applications, in the order they were received
