On behalf of Associated Hebrew School’s Board of Directors, I am pleased to announce two important changes to our senior education leadership team.
Mrs. Ora Shulman has been promoted to Director of Education at Associated Hebrew Schools.
As Director of Education, Ora will oversee the work of our talented team of principals, vice principals, education specialists and faculty at Associated’s Danilack, Kamin and Posluns branches. Ora will work closely with Mr. Chaim Cutler, CFO & Executive Director, to ensure our school’s two pillars, Academics and Student Experience and Operations and Finance are well served in a collaborative environment. To ensure a seamless transition for all, Ora will continue as Principal, Posluns Education Centre for the remainder of this school year.
Ora has had a distinguished career as an educator in both Judaic and General Studies and has spent the past 11 years in a variety of leadership roles at Associated, including her current position as Principal of our Posluns branch.
A graduate of York University with a Master of Education and a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Education, Ora brings a wealth of educational and administrative experience to the role. Prior to coming to Associated, Ora taught at United Synagogue Day School, was Principal at Beit Rayim Hebrew School, served as Director of the Teacher Centre at the former Board of Jewish Education, Early Years Consultant, and most recently as course instructor in the Jewish Teacher Education Program at York University.
Ora’s empathy-based education philosophy sets our students, – your children – at its core. Beyond her student-centred approach, Ora values the central role of the Jewish family in providing students with a meaningful educational experience from preschool through Grade 8.
I am also pleased to announce that, starting in the 2018/19 school year, Mrs. Lee-Ron Kaye will be promoted to Principal, Posluns Education Centre.
Lee-Ron is an experienced educator with ten years of experience at our Posluns branch as a classroom teacher, STEAM educator and, since 2014, branch Vice Principal. Lee-Ron is a graduate of York University with a dual degree in Education, specializing in Jewish Education and a degree in Religious Studies, and is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Western University.
Please join me in extending best wishes to Ora in assuming the role of Director of Education and to Lee-Ron as she embarks on her new role as Principal of our Posluns branch.
On behalf of Chaim and Ora and our entire Board of Directors, we look forward with excitement as we complete our Spring term and begin planning for a vibrant start to our upcoming 2018/19 school year.
Sincerely,
Elaine Osher
President, AHS Board of Directors
