Traditions In The Kitchen: Brenner Family, Shabbat
Written by: The Brenner Family
We are new to the AHS community. Our daughter Leya attends SK at Posluns, and our twins, Annie and Joshua, are enrolled in JK for Fall 2021. We have really enjoyed being part of the AHS community and have found it to be very welcoming and friendly.
While there is nothing better than Bubie’s chicken soup with matza balls for a Shabbat dinner, sometimes we like to spice things up with our Carrot Ginger Soup! We started making it more and more throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, as it is packed with nutrients and vitamins. It is also made with ingredients that store well at home, which is handy as grocery shopping has been more challenging. Our kids love making it with us – and they love the vibrant orange colour!
This soup is meaningful for our family because it is made with natural ingredients and gives us an opportunity to appreciate foods that grow from the earth. The kids always stir some love into the pot and it definitely adds flavour!
Shabbat shalom!
