The excitement of new beginnings was experienced across AHS during our first week of school, as our faculty warmly welcomed our students from Nursery through middle school to begin the next chapter in their academic journey: the 2018/19 school year. Click here for First week photos.
How fortunate we are at AHS to have our new school year coincide with our Jewish year. In our high holiday liturgy, new beginnings are wonderful opportunities to try to wipe the slate clean, try a new approach, develop new strategies, keep learning, and ultimately never give up.
On behalf of myself, Chaim Cutler, the Board of Directors, our educators, and our parent volunteers, I am delighted to extend Rosh Hashanah greetings to our wonderful school community.
May the year תשע׳׳ט bring blessings of peace and prosperity to all in our community and Israel.
And I would like to offer a new year blessing as well. May we – educators, parents and students – work together collaboratively, may we celebrate our differences while appreciating our shared core values and heritage, and may we succeed in achieving our goals, hopes and dreams in a way that benefits ourselves as well as our classmates, colleagues and community. May the sweet sounds of children laughing and learning, coupled with the sweet taste of apples in honey, keep us happily motivated all year. Click here for holiday recipes from ora@home.
At AHS, our Makerspace robots are buzzing, our cooking studios are sizzling, our stationary bikes are spinning, and the energy in our classrooms, assemblies and corridors is inspiring.
Thank you to our generous supporters who make all of this possible. We look forward to a marvellous 2018/19 school year in which each AHS student will learn new skills, explore new interests, and make new friends in their quest to achieve their personal best!
